On the 14th of January, Charles and I went filming at Fewston Reservoir, this is the second time we have visited this location; we have since been during location scouting. We wanted to get a range of locations in our music video in order to increase our variance of features in the video. We began by getting the shots down on the bay using the Canon 7D DSLR. The shots came out relatively shaky due to no gimbal, so we switched over to the Phantom 4 where we filmed the handheld shots due to a steadier shot because of a built in gimbal. We took the drone up and got some landscape shots of the stunning scenery; we could keep an eye on these with the monitor. Following on from this we went to the other side of the reservoir in order to get shots of the protagonist running through the trees and of various other features we found on the way.
On the 23rd of January, Charles, myself and Sarah our actress filmed the opening scene. We had some slight issues with lightning and a grainy image due to very yellow and non-natural lightning, we planned alter this late on while editing by making the image colder. We gathered the shots and wrapped up the shoot fairly swiftly. Overall we were very happy with the shots, and planned to create our first rough cut of the two shoots we had completed within a short space of time.
We have since began to create our first rough cut, lining up the clips and deciding on the order, along with very basic colour correction. From this point we will work heavily on our transitions, for example the zoom transition and further colour correction to achieve a 'Sam Kolder' style which can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/user/koldstudios.
