Magazine Research 1

(YouTube video exemplifying what the second poster was promoting)

Conventions of ODESZA promotional magazine adverts include their name in capitals, their logo, the use of bold simplistic colours along the information at the bottom of the page. Another common convention of their design is a silhouetted image of a boy or girl usually centrally framed. This along with the logo and name in capitals are 3 aspects I can confirm I will use in my own design. They greatly follow 'less is more' in my opinion.

Due to little luck finding much information on ODESZA and individual magazine features, I did some research on FLUME, looking at posters they use and would feature in magazines to promote themselves and their music / album.

Flume also has his own distinct style. The first poster uses an image of Harley Edward Streten himself; I have seen examples whereby ODESZA have done this. It is good for the audience in some cases to 'put a face to the name', music videos within the electronic genre don't showcase this a lot, for example Martin Garrix - WIEE (shown below).

The second poster is advertising his show. He use the same design as on the cover of their 'SKIN' album, along with his stage name.

Finally, the third poster. This takes in a completely different approach. It uses a design which has been mirrored. The design uses bold colours, including black, white, purple and a pastel orange, formulating an almost cartoon image. I personally really like the design and there are aspects I would use as inspiration.
