I looked to receive some constructive criticism and captured some information I could then develop the production with. I was conscious prior to this that it is a slow song and it takes some time to get going and to become exciting. This can be an issue with our engagement to the audience. Although we are more than pleased with the shot quality, it could be boring to the mass of the viewers who won't recognise this, and will switch off, in turn we then lose their interest and the success of the video is reduced.
One option stated from this feedback was to use more of the RGB split technique I used in the logo to end our video. This could be applied on the beat earlier in the music video, to almost 'decorate' it. I use the word 'decorate' carefully as I don't want to lose the quality and realism of the video by making it look tacky. However, if we are to use more techniques to essentially spice up the video, we will need to persevere and follow through, without doing a half hearted job. However, on the other hand we need to also assess whether this will amplify the marks significantly enough for us the justify the time spent on the changes.
Another aspect I would really like to incorporate is a shot vibration. One of my main inspirations to the style of this music video was a video done by JR Alli (this can be found on the blog linked here: http://shot-type-productions.blogspot.co.uk/2016/11/inspiration-behind-idea.html ). He also uses a spin transition which would prove very effective. These two things can add quality early on in the video, without us losing touch with the realism of the video, as a result we remain in touch with our audience, keeping them entertained which is the sole purpose of the product.
Overall, the comments made were very helpful. We now have a platform we can work off and begin to try to perfect small details and construct the overall text. Feedback with regards to the titles has been very pleasing, it took a long time to construct and finalise so to hear good feedback is relieving. From here, Charles and I will meet over the course of Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th to begin on the next few stages of editing to deliberate over what we wish to alter and how much more time we wish to spend on the editing bearing in mind we still have the evaluation questions and exam revision.
